Helen Matuszewski died Wednesday October 9, 2002. She was 85. Helen was the beloved mother of Robert Matuszewski of Putnam Valley and John Matuszewski of Greenfield Center. She was the cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Her loving sister, Catherine Leszynski of Staten Island also survives. The family received friends on Thursday at the Heritage Funeral Home in Putnam Valley and will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Densmore Funeral Home in Corinth.


Mazurek, Phylliss

Phylliss Mazurek died Saturday, August 10 at her daughter's home in Putnam Valley. She was 77. Phylliss was the cherished mother of Louis and Gloria Mazurek and Stephanie Ranalli. She is also survived by her brothers, John, Carl and Joseph Girolamo and her sister, Nancy Seta. She was the loving and devoted grandmother of Stacey, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Lauren and Louis. Visiting hours are Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10 AM at the Church of the North American Martyrs in Putnam Valley and interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery


McCarthy, Helen

Helen McCarthy died Friday December 20, 2002 at her home in Jefferson Village. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry and her cherished children Eileen Murphy and her husband Daniel, Thomas McCarthy and his wife Helen and William McCarthy and his wife Bernardine. Helen was also the devoted grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 7. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10 AM at the Church of the North American Martyrs in Putnam Valley and interment will follow at Rose Hills Cemetery.


McDonald, Ellyn

Ellyn McDonald a life long Putnam Valley resident, died Thursday, July 4, 2002 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. She was 57. Ellyn is survived by her loving mother, Dorothy Kiem and her cherished life partner, Philip Orlando. Ellyn was a retired manager for IBM and was an auxiliary member of the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Visiting hours will be on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. Funeral services will be on Monday at 10 AM at the funeral home and interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.


Meyer, Rudolph

Rudolph Meyer of Putnam Valley, died Wednesday at Cortlandt Health Care Center. He was 91. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at THE HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. On Saturday, the family will meet at the funeral home at 10AM and proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.


Morris, Kathleen

Kathleen Morris, a former resident of Putnam Valley, died July 30 2002 in Woodstock, IL. She was 66. Kathleen was born September 3, 1935 in Bronxville, NY to John and Antoinette Basile. She grew up in Eastchester, and married Frederick T Morris, Jr. on June 18, 1960 in Scarsdale. They resided in Putnam Valley for almost 40 years before moving to Huntley, IL in 1999. Kathleen was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield in Yorktown Heights.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband Fred, her loving children Thomas Morris and his wife Nancy of Avon, IL, Michele Morris of Danbury CT, Karen Link and her husband Ronald of Crystal Lake, IL and Craig Morris and his wife Denise of Albany, NY; and her cherished grandchildren Jessica, Kayla, Brianna and Tyler. Kathleen is also survived by her brothers Nelson Basile of Scarsdale and John Basile of Longs, SC as well as many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Peter, Frank and Michael Basile and her sister, Teresa Matthews.

Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10 AM at the Church of the North American Martyrs and entombment will follow at Rose Hills Cemetery


Olenski, Stephen A.

Stephen A Olenski died Thursday October 10, 2002. He was 52. Stephen worked as an "A" Mechanic for Con Edison for 32 years and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Peekskill. Stephen was the beloved husband of Regina and the devoted father of Stephen, David and Samantha Olenski. He was the loving grandfather of Abigail. His cherished mother, Silvia and dear sister, Johanne Calabrese also survive. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at 1st Baptist Church of Peekskill and interment will follow at Rose Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to 1st Baptist Church of Peekskill


Pettersen, Patricia

Patricia Pettersen, a former Putnam Valley resident died Wednesday at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 66. Patricia had worked as the Town Clerk and Tax Collector for the Town of Putnam Valley for many years. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert J. Florkowski, her cherished children Arthur J. and Richard O. Pettersen, Nancy E, Barbara A. and Carol L. Makar and Jennifer L. Feduke and her loving stepsons, Michael, Mark, Robert, John and Jason Florkowski. Patricia was the devoted grandmother of 16. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Pettersen. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 10 AM at the Grace Methodist Church in Putnam Valley and interment will follow at Rose Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Grace Methodist Church.

Marion Porteus (nee Ruddy), a long time Putnam Valley resident, died Thursday February 21, 2002 at Hudson Valley Hospital. She was 86. Marion was born in Bronx, NY on October 27, 1915. She was the beloved wife of Simon A. Porteus, the cherished mother of William A Porteus and Elizabeth McMorrow and the cherished stepmother of Brian and Simon Porteus and Marguerite Winter. She was the devoted and loving grandmother of Elizabeth, William, Colleen and Timothy McMorrow, William and Jacqueline Porteus, Simon, Christopher and Brian, (Jr.) Porteus, Patricia Salvatto and Rory Winter. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. Visiting hours will be on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11 AM at St. Columbanus Church in Cortlandt Manor and interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Vanessa Repicky of Lake Peekskill died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at her home. She was 47. Vanessa was born on January 29, 1955 in Scotland. She worked as an aide for the Lakeland School District. Vanessa was the beloved wife of David Repicky and the cherished mother of Lisa, Jennifer and Andrea. She was the devoted daughter of Agnes Brown and the late William "Scotty" Brown. Vanessa is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters, William, Keith, Kenneth, Ross, Patricia and Tracy. She will be deeply missed by the many people who were touched by her life. Hilda Ulrich, a long time Putnam Valley resident, died Thursday, June 20, 2002 at Wingate at Dutchess. She was 88. Hilda was the beloved wife of the late Edgar Ulrich. She was the cherished mother of Edgar C. Ulrich, Jr., Robert J. Ulrich, Sr. and Valentina E. Drummond, and the devoted grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 3.
