Sunday Adorno died
Wednesday, April 11, 2007. She was the beloved wife of Ralph A. Adorno and the loving
mother of Ralph, Alfred, Bruce, Sunday, Lisa, Danny and John. She was the cherished
grandmother of 12 grandsons and 2 granddaughters and the great-grandmother of 7.
Her sister Fran Benson and brother Joseph Borrelli also survive. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church
and a committal service will follow at Rose Hills Cemetery.
Borst, Peter N.
Peter N. Borst
of Waterbury, CT died suddenly on March 9, 2007 at his home. Born Oct. 3, 1954, Peter
was the son of the late Robert and Lily Borst of Peekskill, NY. He graduated from
Lakeland High School in 1972 and attended SUNY Delhi. Peter worked for IBM for 18
years and then for the Hartford Insurance Co. as a computer programmer and was part
of the IT & Support Dept. Peter was a kind and loving father and brother who
enjoyed spending time with his son. Peter enjoyed cooking and was an avid Giants
and Yankees fan. He also loved to play golf. He will be greatly missed. Peter is
predeceased by his parents and his brother Richard. He is survived by his son Robert
Borst of Hyde Park, NY, and by his brothers Jeffrey and his wife Toni of Lagrangeville
and Thomas and his wife Nancy of Peekskill. He is also survived by his nieces Theresa,
Sara and Kimberly. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with
funeral services at 8 p.m. at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam
Valley.
Campbell, Stephanie V.
Stephanie
V. Campbell of Putnam Valley, died Friday, May 11 at her home. She was 86. Stephanie
was predeceased in 1973 by her beloved husband Michael, and was also predeceased
by her children Michael John Campbell, Barbara Dagnall and her husband Dane, Denise
Campbell, by her grandson, Dane Dagnall, Jr. Stephanie was also predeceased by her
brother Ray Milenkiewicz.
She is survived by her cherished children Michelle
Lawlor, Jacqueline Multari and her husband Frank, and Duane Campbell and his wife
Christina. She was the loving grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 9. She is
also survived by her brother Walter Milen and his wife Irma and by many nieces and
nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the HERITAGE
FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
offered on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the North American Martyrs in Putnam
Valley and interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Chester.
Fisher, Mary A.
Mary A. Fisher
of Poughkeesie, NY died on July 25, 2007 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was 85.
Mary is predeceased by her husband John who passed away in 1996. She was
the loving mother of Diane, Ruth, John, Rosemarie, Thomas, Deborah, Candice, and
Dennis, and the loving mother-in-law of Judy, Roxanne, and Lorriane. Mary is also
survived by nine grand children, Monica, Sheery, Mathew, Ian, David, Tina, Stephanie,
Thomas, and Kyle, and two great grandchildren Michelle, and Nicole. She was a great
mother and friend who will be dearly missed. The family will recieve friends on Friday
from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 35 Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley,
NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10 am at St. Columbanus

Gragert, Bertha Eisele
Bertha
Eisele Gragert, a long time resident of Lake Peekskill and a resident of Peekskill
for the past 13 years, died Thursday after a brief illness. She was 102 years old.
Bertha is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and Ernst Muller, by her
son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Doris Gragert and by 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Herbst, Marie C,
Marie C. Herbst,
of Lake Peekskill, died after a long battle with breast cancer Friday, September
7, 2007. Marie, known as "Connie", was born September 30, 1942 in Brooklyn
NY to Mary Collora. Beloved wife of 30 years to Bob Herbst, who died in December
2006. Marie is survived by her loving children, Robert Lawrence Herbst and Mary Theresa
Benvenuto and their spouses Lenore Herbst and Ernie Benvenuto. A loving grandmother
to four-month old Ernest Joseph Benvenuto, III. Marie was a wonderful mother, grandmother,
and nurse who loved skiing, movies, and riding horses. In lieu of flowers memorial
contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. A Mass
will be celebrated on Saturday, September 15 at 11:30 am at the Church of the North

Kinbar, Serena E.
Serena E. Kinbar
of New Windsor, was born on February 14, 1930 and died July 20, 2007. She is survived
by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Kinbar, daughters Frances (Ed) Olmsted of Garrison,
NY, Marcia (Alan) Goldstein of Buffalo, NY and four grandchildren, Mark and Sarah
Olmsted and Brian and Rachel Goldstein. She is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law,
Ruth Lehrer and her loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
For
18 years she was a human resources administrator at Kings Park Psychiatric Center.
Intelligent, lovely and compassionate, she will be missed by everyone who knew and
loved her.
Funeral services will be held at First Hebrew Congregation of Peekskill
on Sunday, July 22 at 10:00 am and interment will follow at King David Cemetery in
Putnam Valley. Shiva will be held at the home of Arthur Kinbar. Contributions may
be made to Mazon or Cornwall Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage
Funeral Home, Putnam Valley.
Knisley, Verda E.
Verda E. Knisley
passed on February 17, 2007. She was 98 years old. Verda was born in Herman IL on
June 4, 1908 and resided in Galesburg, IL. She married George Knisley on December
22, 1924 in Decatur, IL where she lived until 1951. While in Decatur, she managed
the camera department at Haines & Essex, she went on a buying trip to Chicago
and she was a member of the Decatur Camera Club. During WWII, Verda worked at a defense
plant testing fuses for armor-piercing shells.
In 1951, a publishing company
brought her to NYC to work as an Editor. She also worked as a Real Estate broker.
In 1967, she moved to Putnam Valley. She retired from Reader's Digest. Verda spent
her retirement years volunteering for the Tompkins Corners United Methodist Church
as Treasurer and working on all committees, fundraising and applying for grants.
She was most proud of her work to get the church listed on the State and National
Register of Historic Places in 1983.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn
Cope of Putnam Valley and Shirley Stout of Oreana, IL. Visiting hours will be on
Tuesday, February 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey

Kramers, Loretta E.
Loretta
Elizabeth Kramers (nee Rockett), a long time resident of Putnam Valley, died on December
23, 2007. Loretta was born in Peekskill on June 22, 1923 and raised in Shrub Oak,
the daughter of Harriet (Clark) and Douglas Rockett. Loretta attended the Shrub Oak
School from which she graduated in 1941. She was involved in many sports, particularly
basketball. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Francis Rockett in 2002. She
is survived by one other brother, George Duffy. Loretta married her beloved husband,
C. J. Kramers in 1951. He predeceased her on December 23, 1985. Loretta is survived
by her daughters, Leila M. Kramers and Elizabeth N. Flor, as well as Michael Zopes
and Peter A. Flor. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Jacob and Kayla Zopes and
Ian, Katelyn and Margarethe Flor.
Loretta was retired from the NY Telephone Company.
She was employed as an Operator for nearly three decades. Loretta will be remembered
fondly by her devoted family and cherished friends. Her life revolved around them
and she graced them with her beautiful spirit and loving kindness. She enjoyed the
simple things in life; her family, home, her pets and the Yankees. She will remain
a bright light in the hearts of those who loved her.
The family will receive friends
on Thursday, December 27th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey
Drive, Putnam Valley. A Funeral Service will be held at The United Methodist Church
in Shrub Oak, of which she was a lifelong member, on Friday, December 28th at 11:00.
In
lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Northern Westchester Hospital
Foundation, in Loretta's memory. The tenderness and comfort provided by the nursing
staff of 6 East was a great source of comfort to all. Her final days were spent beside
her family and made comfortable by the caring and dedicated nurses of 6 East. We
will be eternally grateful to them.
Mahoney, Joyce A.
Joyce A. Mahoney,
our beloved, passed away February 26, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 47
years, John (Jocko) Mahoney of Putnam Valley, her three sons, one daughter and their
spouses; Kevin and Stephanie Mahoney of Texas, Danny and Molly Mahoney of Auburn,
NY, John and Dawn Mahoney of Cortlandt and Kerry Mahoney and Mike Kuchera of Putnam
Valley. Joyce is also survived by her adored grandchildren, Maggie McCarthy, Brian,
Elizabeth, Michael, Emily, Jack, David and Jake Mahoney, by her brother Kenny and
Denise Vetter of Florida and by many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by her parents Hugo and Dorothy Vetter and her brother Georgie.
Joyce grew
up in Astoria Queens and moved to Putnam Valley in 1968. She was a retired History
teacher, having taught at St. Patrick's in Verplanck, Franciscan High School and
Good Counsel Academy High School. Joyce lived life to the fullest as a history buff
and she loved traveling. She kept a busy social calendar, centered around her many
wonderful friends whom she loved dearly and who cared for her lovingly during her
final challenging months.

Maria Matthews of Putnam
Valley died suddenly on July 19, 2007 at her home she was 52. Maria is survived by
her beloved husband, Albert J. Matthews, III. She was the loving mother of Jennifer
McDonald and her husband Andrew and Samantha Matthews. She was predeceased by her
sons Albert J. Matthews, IV and Christian Theile. Maria is also survived by her devoted
mother, Dorothy McNeil and by her devoted father and step-mother Leonard and Judith
Scheno. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren.

Julia Muth,
a longtime Putnam Valley rsident, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Hudson Valley Hospital.
She was 83. Julia is survived by her beloved husband, George of Putnam Valley and
by her loving brother, Frasier Clark of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived her
sister-in law, her brother-in-law and by many nieces and nephews. Julia was predeceased
by her son Alan and recently, by her brother Victor Clark. Julia had worked as an
accounts receivable manager at NY Hospital, and was involved with the Salvation Army
for many years.

Frank was a retired NYC Policeman. He was the beloved husband of Adelaide (nee Reilly)
and the loving father of Barbara, Theresa, Frank and Terrence. He was the devoted

Stella, Jr. died Tuesday, April 17. He was a member of Local 3 IBEW. Daniel is survived
by his wife Sheila, his sons, Zachary and Daniel III, his mother Patricia and his
brother Anthony. He is predeceased by his father Daniel (Mike) J. Stella, Sr. Visiting
