Ann Carra
Died: Jun 8, 2020
Ann Carra, of Putnam Valley, New York, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2020, after a brief illness.

Ann was born in Queens, New York, to the late Anthony and Josephine Giordano, on May 25, 1937.  She married the love of her life, Raymond Carra, on August 14, 1960, and they began their journey together.  In 1973, Ann and Ray moved to their home in Putnam Valley, New York, where they raised their six children.

Ann worked as a secretary for Sabina Airlines and then in the billing department of the Ambulance Corps.  She also worked in the accounting department for Panelrama and Home & Hearth for many years before retiring.

Ann loved people – she was a “people person.”  She was very involved in and an active member of many civic organizations in the community.  She participated in many events that affected the good of the local community.

But Ann’s greatest accomplishment was her family.  Nothing else mattered more to Ann than that!  She enjoyed a lifetime of family gatherings and traditions – and treasured every minute!

Ann is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ray, her six adoring children, Gerard, Joann Swarner (John), Maria Monahan (Richard), Christine Carra, Loretta Estay (Claudio) and Anthony (Michelle).  She also leaves behind eleven grand-children, Daniel, Kimberly, Allison, Jamie, John, Janine, Damian, William, Anthony, Christopher and Anna and eleven great-grand children.

Ann also leaves her loving brothers John (Anna) and Anthony (Louise) and was pre-deceased by her brother Alphonse (Lucille).

In later years, Ann always stayed strong and persevered with family by her side – especially, her devoted husband, Ray. He was her rock!  They would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on August 14th and shared a very beautiful life together……..

Ann was loved so much and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.  She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family and friends.

“MOM, you will always be in our hearts.  There aren’t enough words to express to you the gratitude for all the love you gave us, and all of our love for you.”

Visiting hours are from 4-8 pm. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive,  Putnam Valley.  A prayer service will be held at 7 pm.  (Please not that current NY State guidance allows us to have 25% of our normaloccupancy.  You may be asked to wait briefly if there are too many people inside)  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
