Bassam Emile Barkach

Bassam Emile Barkach, age 51 of Wingdale, NY and Westerly, RI passed away unexpectedly on the morning of March 29, 2019 in New Mildford Hospital, CT.

Born on New Years Day 1-1-1968 in Beruit, Lebanon to Emile and Jacqueline Barkach, they immigrated to the United States in June of 1974 and settled in Peekskill, NY.

After high school, Bassam began his construction career with Universal Construction of Yorktown Heights, NY.  He spent 30 years as the head carpenter, gifted in his profession, then took on the position of head foreman. Up to his passing, Bassam was the manager of Dover Mobil in Wingdale NY.

Bassam was a fun, loving man that lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed dancing, music, pleasure boating, fishing, cooking, and discussing politics. He loved to eat his Arabic Food. He loved spending time with his family and friends any chance he had. His long lasting smile and humor will be missed greatly by everyone that knew him and came in contact with. He has touched many lives along his shortened life and will be remembered in our hearts forever.


Bassam is survived by his his Fiance Sunni Loverro, his dear mother Jacqueline Barkach, Grandmother Olga Khoury, his two sisters, Rima Adorno, Rola Juback both whom he walked down the aisle after the early passing of their father. Brother in-laws John Adorno, Raymond Juback, his adored nieces and nephews Jacqueline Adorno, Anthony Adorno, Nina Marie Adorno, Joseph Juback, Michael Juback.  Bassam stood as godfather to both Anthony & Michael. His Aunt Sophie, Uncle Nabil and Uncle Ray with all their children and his cousins that were like brothers and sisters to him. His first cousins Jeffrey & Jason were the brothers he never had. 


With our Deepest heartfelt thanks, the family would like to acknowledge everyone that has poured out their condolences, love, support and compassion during this difficult time,  God Bless you all and may Bassam Rest In Eternal Peace by his fathers side on his new journey, Until we meet again brother.  WE LOVE YOU SAM XOXOX 

The family and friends will gather for a wake from 9 am until 12 noon on Wedensday, April 3rd at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley.  A Mass of Christian Burual will be offered at 12:30 pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak and interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor.
