Died: Aug 28, 2021
Mario Albert D’Elia III has died on August 28, 2021, in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he resided.  Mario was born on December 25, 1970, in Fort Meade, Maryland to Mario D’Elia Jr (deceased) and Nancy D’Elia Dini.  He is survived by his mother Nancy, two daughters, LeAnness and Natalia, his sister Alison, three nephews, Galo, Andrew and DJ and three nieces, Corina, Kristiana and Lindsey (Galo’s wife), and two great nephews, Stephen and Logan.

Mario was the owner and chef of Poppy’s Pizzeria and Italian Eatery and Poppy’s Healthy Meals in Albuquerque.  He was also a chef at Isatopes and a former assistant coach for the Atlanta Xplosions.

Mario graduated from Ossining High School in 1989 where he played football and lacrosse.

Mario had an uncanny ability to personally connect with others.  He could make a complete stranger feel like family in 5 minutes.  Mario left a legacy that we all are glad to be a tiny piece of.
