Charlton Harding

Charlton Harding of Lake Peekskill, NY died February 21, 2013 at Hudson Valley Hospital in Corlandt Manor.  He was 55.  Charlton is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Giacoumis) Harding and his cherished son, Christopher Harding.  He is the devoted son of Charles and Nancy (Day) Harding.  Charlton is also survived by his brother Kenneth Harding, his late wife Robin Harding, and their children Jason, Kenneth and Jacquelyn Harding and his sister Valerie Harding Storrs,  her husband Ronald Storrs and their daughter, Hannah Storrs.

His accomplishments include:  Electrical Engineer;  BSEE – Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, 1985; Member of Technical staff at the School of Electrical Engineering, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, 1981 – 1985; Lead Engineer Electronics Manager – Device Fabrication;     Opto-Electronics Center McDonnell Douglas Corporation, Elmsford, N.Y., 1986 – 1993; Referee Electronics Letters, Stevenage, Hertshire, U.K., 1992 – 1993; Articles to professional publications; Co-designer of high output etched mirror laser diodes; Invention of low divergence laser diode, high power laser diode array; demonstrated that ion beam etching can be used to produce reliable laser diodes.  Charlton was the President and Owner of Hudson Optical Laboratories, Inc., Peekskill, N.Y., 1993 –  .  His family and his work were the passion of his life.  Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley.  Funeral Services are on Wednesday and are private.
